POPE FRANCIS NAMES FOUR L.A. PRIESTS AS AUXILIARY BISHOPS FOR THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES

Here are their names:

• Msgr. Albert Bahhuth,

• Father Matthew Elshoff, OFM. Cap.,

• Father Brian Nunes

• Father Slawomir Szkredka, Ph.D., S.S.D.,

auxiliary bishops of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The appointments were announced in Washington, D.C. at 3 a.m. PST by Cardinal-designate Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States.

Archbishop Gomez said “Each is a man of prayer who loves Jesus and has a deep desire to share God’s love and to serve God’s people. We are praying for them, and we entrust them to the tender care of Holy Mary our, Blessed Mother.”
