THANK YOU for your prayerful support throughout this unprecedented time, which has impacted each one of us.
St. Leonardo Murialdo, founder of the father of St. Joseph, had strong conviction about God’s providence. This conviction is perfectly expressed in his words, “We are in God’s hands, and we are in good hands” (Letters, IV, 1546), a phrase that has became a hymn in this time.
I’ve spent months reflecting on this pandemic, and how it has impacted our Church and community. If you ask me how to reopen our groups, and our normal activities, I would suggest to myself and to others, to reset to what our core spiritual values are telling us to do. Our personal decisions and everything that comes from our mind should be shaped and inspired by the Holy Spirit (It is what Johnny Dotti calls “ripartire dal silenzio”).
Friends, as we reopen our church, I want you to take a moment and think of our church, with the altar, the tabernacle, the beautiful stained panels, and the candles…and remember the feeling of peace that washes over you when you’re deep in prayer. Do that, and I think we might start to focus our attention on what is important in life. God. Faith. Family. Health. Friendship. Kindness. Community.
It will take time to return to normal, but we know the day is coming. And I want you to know that
our parish will be ready. You and your family are in my prayers, and I hope that I am in yours.
Gratefully in Christ,
